Can art promote resistance and prevent gentrification [definition please] I am not so sure… let’s see.
Sure – used in carefully-conceived ways, art can be political – and the politics can expose injustice and point the way to change. Of course, it can be used in the other direction too, to foment injustice and celebrate the status quo or promote movement back to a more reactionary time.
What then is the next question?
Since you don’t come out and state why the hell this specific area is being focused on by the developers lobby, this site is clearly a crock of shit subversion effort.
Good point, we should state why we are focusing Station North. We know gentrification is happening all over Baltimore, all over the United States, all over the world.
We choose SN because we know it and are involved in Station North one way or another.
It would be great if some of the ideas that come out of this project could be used in other situations.
We are about to post an application for proposal maybe you will consider participating.
